Technology is a broad concept that deals with the usage and knowledge of tools and crafts, and how it affects the ability to control and adapt to the environment. In human society, it is a consequence of science and engineering, although several technological advances predate the two concepts.


People's use of technology began with the conversion of natural resources into simple tools. The prehistorical discovery of the ability to control fire increased the available sources of food and the invention of the wheel helped humans in travelling in and controlling their environment. Recent technological developments, including the printing press, the telephone, and the Internet, have lessened physical barriers to communication and allowed humans to interact on a global scale. However, not all technology has been used for peaceful purposes; the development of weapons of ever-increasing destructive power has progressed throughout history, from clubs to nuclear weapons.

the future?

Thoughts and promises of the future has always been a passion for humans, and prophesying has always been a fascination. With so many technologies and possibilities opening up ahead of us there is one thing that is for sure: it will be and exciting at least until it comes.

in the next 7-10 years? maybe?

This takes us to an important trend that is going to emerge, which is the mobile device as a personal assistant. They will be able to do things for you because you tell it to, or because it thinks it’s a good idea. It will have a customised personality and also be able to learn about how you communicate and change its behaviour based on that knowledge.Your mobile device is going to be responsible for all the current phone features like appointments, address book and music, but the mobile devices of the future are also going to monitor your health, manage and book your travel just by entering a date into a calendar, manage your bank accounts, and even send flowers to a loved one on a special day. The device itself will just be the access point which will log into your personal network which might be hosted at your home but really could be anywhere. It's so amazing...
